In October, we celebrated Maths Week at Owenbeg N.S., diving into a week full of fun, creativity, and learning. The purpose of Maths Week is to spark a love for numbers, problem-solving, and logical thinking in a way that’s engaging and accessible for all our pupils—and this year’s activities did just that!
Our packed schedule included a wide variety of events and challenges for every age group:
- 🕹️ Hour of Code with Minecraft where pupils explored coding and computational thinking.
- 🖥️ A fascinating Microsoft Dreamspace webinar that brought STEM concepts to life.
- 🍞 Baking bairín breac, connecting maths with real-life measuring and weighing skills.
- 🎲 Exciting maths board games that turned learning into play.
- 🤣 Cheesy maths jokes of the day to keep everyone smiling.
- 🔍 A maths trail for junior pupils to explore maths in their surroundings.
And that’s just a glimpse of all the fun we had! Maths Week not only made numbers exciting but also showed how maths connects to our daily lives, creativity, and even our humor!
We’re proud of our students’ enthusiasm and participation throughout the week. Here’s to making maths a fun and memorable part of learning! 💡📐
