Owenbeg N.S. has a long tradition of sport, with our pupils participating in many sport events and competing in competitions. Working with Sligo GAA and our local GAA clubs, our pupils participate in GAA coaching in Gaelic football and hurling. In the 2022/23 school year, our girls’ Gaelic football team won their division in the Sligo Cumann na mBunscol competition!
As well as GAA, we give our pupils many opportunities to participate in other sports across the P.E. curriculum including athletics, dance, gymnastics, outdoor and adventure activities and games.
We are very fortunate to have a large fully-lit Astroturf pitch with GAA markings as well as a fully equipped P.E. hall.
