Owenbeg N.S. has a strong tradition of excellence in music. Over the decades our pupils have performed in school choirs, plays and musical events in the community. Our pupils have also participated in initiatives such as Music in the Classroom, Music Generation and the Comenius Project.
We are extremely fortunate to have access to a wide variety of musical instruments such as sets of guitars, percussion instruments and ukuleles. Our pupils learn how to play tin whistle and other instruments
Singing is central our school life. All pupils are encourage to participate singing, in school, at school events and liturgical celebration. Music links us strongly with the Owenbeg and wider Easkey community. Our pupils regularly perform at community events and celebrations such as Switching on of the Christmas lights, St. Patrick’s Day parades, community masses to name a few.
